Hulu续订《大帝》第二季
Hulu刚刚续订了历史喜剧《大帝》（The Great）第2季，将继续以荒诞手法讲述俄国女沙皇叶卡捷琳娜二世（Catherine the Great）的发迹史。
据了解，《大帝》是一部英国、澳大利亚合拍剧，2018年该剧立项时被定为限定剧（limited series），通过喜剧手法讲述了叶卡捷琳娜二世从外乡人成长为俄罗斯历史上执政时间最长女沙皇的故事。
美国青年女演员Elle Fanning在该剧中扮演标题女主角。Fanning于1998年4月9日出生，今年22岁，是知名女童星Dakota Fanning的妹妹，代表作有《超级八》（Super 8）、《沉睡魔咒》（Maleficent）系列等电影。Fanning还参演过不少电视剧，而这部《大帝》是她以女一号身份主演的第一部电视剧作品。
英国青年演员Nicholas Hoult也主演了该剧，扮演俄罗斯沙皇彼得三世（Peter III of Russia）。在俄罗斯历史上，后者登基仅半年就被发动政变的妻子叶卡捷琳娜二世赶下台，在签署退位诏书一个星期后死于距离圣彼得堡三十公里的罗普舒。但是，彼得三世的死因至今不明，当时叶卡捷琳娜二世对外宣称，他死于消化不良。
据Hulu，《大帝》首季是今年该平台上表现最好的喜剧作品。该剧首季于今年5月份上线，第2季定于2021年回归。
